Abstract
:
This paper discusses the contingent of three companions of Prophet Mohammad (Peace be Upon Him) to three of the prominent Christian kings of the world at the time around the second half of the third decade of the seventh century AD, the period which corresponding to the beginning of the conciliation with the tribe of Quraish. The companions were, Amr Bin Omayyah Al-Dhamry, Dihyah Bin Khalifah Al-Kalbi, and Hatib Bin Abi Baltaah. The kings were those of Abyssinia, Egypt, the Roman Empire, and the Persian Empire. The paper surveys the personal history of the three messengers, the content of the Prophet's message, and the response of each king to it. The king of Abyssinia was individual in his positive response to the Islamic call; the responses of the kings of Egypt and Roman Empire were almost not far from that of the Abyssinian's. The paper does not extend beyond the kings attitudes for it is mainly concerned with the messengers history and characters.
